Annual Meeting 2022

Nordic POP Annual Meeting 2022 after 2,5 years of remote and online cooperation was a succesfull arrangement, hosting 154 participants on route Helsinki-Stockholm-Helsinki. Finaly we are back to physical networking in its real form and to the intense nourishment of new ideas.

The Annual Meeting 2022 was organized by Åbo Akademi University and the team led by prof. Jessica Rosenholm. Meeting was kicked off by Scientific Advisory Board meeting and continued as an intensive 2,5 day event. First part held in Helsinki port and then sailed towards Sweden and back.

On route, there were in total:

  • 23 talks were given, 58 posters and 22 pitches presented by both senior and junior reasearchers

The prizes for best presentations were awarded in three categories:

  • Best poster presentations:

Sara Lautala (University of Helsinki, title: Synergetic approach of rigorous simulation and experiment helps avoid pitfalls previously overlooked in PKC C1 domain targeting )

Janni Støvring Mortensen (University of Copenhagen, title: The oral peptide permeation enhancer SNAC influences the properties of intestinal mucus)

Melvin Wostry (University of Kiel, title: 3D-printed complex dispersing aids for Dry Powder Inhalation formulations)

  • best pitch CRS session:

Oliver Koivisto (Åbo Akademi University, title: Delivery of Cas9/sgRNA system using functionalized mesoporous silica nanoparticle system

  • best pitch AM session:

Carita Salomy (University of Eastern Finland, title: VIRTUAL SCREENING OF COUMARIN DERIVATIVES FOR DISCOVERINGTRPA1 NOVEL ANTAGONISTS)

We are pleased that the meeting could happen after 2,5 years since last physical Annual meeting. As a venue and organizer for the next Annual Meeting, Uppsala University is taking over the staffet and will host the event in early 2024.

All Nordic POP members were invited to submit their manuscripts for the special issue in EJPS: Virtual Special Issue "Nordic POP". More info on this opportunity can be found here.
